How to be safe with alcohol

How to be safe with alcohol.

1. How can you be safe personally at a party with alcohol:

  • have a glass of water between every drink
  • be aware of potential drink spiking
  • dont drink something you didn’t pour/see pour
  • dont leave your drink unattended
  • leave with the same people you came with
  • stick to well-lit streets
  • save the taxi number in your phone

2. What are 5 things that need to occur to make sure you and your friends are safe if you are the HOST of the party:

  • consent from all parents(if  U18)
  • make sure everyone has a way home(someone pick them up, uber, bus, etc)
  • MAKE SURE THERE IS FOOD
  • you should be one of the most sober ones in the party
  • have non-alcoholic drinks there

3. What should you do if someone passes out from alcohol?

If somebody passes out you should first call an ambulance while waiting for the ambulance put them on their side into the recovery position so if they vomit they won’t choke and die on it. dont leave them alone, stay with them to make sure they are breathing.

4. What do you do if things get out of hand at a party? eg: fights

  • try to keep everyone calm
  • if you have security get them to take them out

Jaden & Nuu’s Discovery Tasks

Hello a couple weeks ago in health class we were set a task. We were required to choose a health topic to work on, Nuu and I decided on ACL tears.

First, we had to make 6 Questions:

  1. How do you tear your ACL?
  2. What short-term and long-term effects does the ACL tear have?
  3. What are 2 perspectives on tearing your ACL?
  4. How do we minimise health with an ACL tear?
  5. How does an ACL tear affect your mental health?
  6. What are the positive and negative outcomes of an ACL tear?

Then we had to answer those questions:

1.  A twisting of the leg while applying full downward pressure and the bones in your knees tear apart

2.  (ST) Knee pain, swelling. (LT) Unable to return to the sport, overall reduced activity.

3.  Perspective 1: “I can’t play sports :(”. Perspective 2: “It’s ok, I get to spend more time with my family :)”.

4.  Use a weight distributor like a brace or crutches to minimize the amount of weight you put onto your torn ACL.

5.  You can’t do the sports you love anymore, making you sad and angry.

6. It’s harder to do daily life challenges like getting out of bed walking to the living room showering. An ACL tear gives you more time to do it.

Then we had a discovery task. Nuu and I did a slideshow with 2 videos of Nuu and I recreating scenarios in which you would tear your ACL. The slideshow link is under this.

Medicine and Health issues assessment (LEGEND)

For health this week we had an assessment. we have 2 hours of class time + 4 days of home time to complete it (I only did it in class). this is the link for my work.

thank you for reading. I hope I get a good grade

Climate Change

Climate change is when the whole earth changes a lot over a LONG period of time usually in the 100-year range. There are a lot of things that can cause climate change it isnt always humans fault there can be really extreme weather like the hurricane that just came to Florida called Hurricane Milton, but most of the time it is humans. Humans use cars, planes, industrial facilitys and way more things that use carbon dioxide.

Walking Corpse Syndrome/Cotard’s Syndrome

This mental disorder is when the person genuinely thinks that parts of their body are missing or they are dead or they are dying or they don’t exist and they can even think that nothing exists. This disorder is pretty rare there is only like 200 cases of it worldwide. People that have this disorder aren’t very social like a lot less social than others without it or just stop talking in general, some hear voices telling them that they are dead or dying. Some refuse to eat because they see no reason they are “dead”, and you’ve never seen a dead body eating. This is how Walking Corpse Syndrome/Cotard’s Syndrome affects your Hauora

Physically

  • refuse to care for themselves (eat, shower… etc) because there is no point and they are already dead
  • risk harming themselves

Socially

  • isolation from other people
  • can’t talk to others properly because they think they aren’t a part of the human world
  • family find it difficult to understand their beliefs

Mentally

  • severe depression
  • distorts the way they think (cant think logically and has no problem-solving skills)

Spiritually

  • feel like they have no purpose (because they are “dead”)
  • disconnection from spiritual beliefs (if they had really strong spiritual beliefs Cotard’s Syndrome will change that)

so that is all I have to say about Walking Corpse Syndrome/Cotard’s Syndrome.

Thank you for reading.

touch rugby

hello, our class was doing touch rugby this week in P.E. I have chosen to focus on passing, I have learned that you cannot pass forwards only backward and sideways. you can demonstrate respect by cheering them on and passing the ball to them. it is important to be resilient when you win or lose because you must be respectful to the team that lost instead of making them feel bad, and when losing you must be resilient so you can keep going and eventually win.

LIGHT ENERGY HEAT ENERGY SOUND ENERGY KINETIC ENERGY
Light energy is a form of energy that is produced by the movement of electromagnetic waves. It is a type of radiant energy that can be seen and detected by the human eye. Light energy is an essential part of our lives, and it is used in many different ways. For example, it is used to power solar panels, to light up our homes and offices, and to transmit information through fiber optic cables. Light energy is also used in many different fields, including medicine, photography, and astronomy. Overall, light energy is a fascinating and important aspect of our world. Heat energy is a form of energy that is transferred from one object to another due to a difference in temperature. This energy can be produced by a variety of sources, including the sun, burning fuels, and electricity. Heat energy is important in many aspects of our daily lives, from cooking food to keeping our homes warm in the winter. It is also a key component in many industrial processes, such as manufacturing and transportation. Understanding the principles of heat energy is crucial for many fields of science and engineering, from thermodynamics to materials science.
Sound energy is another form of energy that is produced by vibrations, which are transmitted through a medium, such as air or water. These vibrations cause pressure waves that can be detected by our ears, allowing us to perceive sound. Sound energy is important in many aspects of our daily lives, from communication to entertainment. It is also crucial in fields such as acoustics and audio engineering. Understanding the principles of sound energy is essential for many applications, from designing concert halls to developing hearing aids.
Kinetic energy is the energy that an object possesses due to its motion. It is a form of energy that is transferred between objects that are in motion. The amount of kinetic energy that an object has is dependent on its mass and velocity. When an object is in motion, it has the ability to do work and cause a change in its environment. Kinetic energy is an important concept in physics and is used in many applications, from calculating the speed of a moving object to designing roller coasters.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL ENERGY CHEMICAL POTENTIAL ENERGY ELASTIC POTENTIAL ENERGY
Electrical energy is the energy that comes from the movement of electrons. It is a form of energy that is used to power most of the technology we use in our daily lives, from light bulbs to computers. Electrical energy is generated by power plants, which convert other forms of energy, such as chemical or mechanical, into electrical energy. This energy can then be transported to homes and businesses through power lines. Electrical energy is an important concept in physics and is used in many applications, from designing circuits to understanding the behavior of magnets. Gravitational potential energy refers to the energy an object possesses due to its height above the ground. It is a form of potential energy that can be converted into other forms of energy, such as kinetic energy, as the object falls to the ground. Gravitational potential energy is an important concept in physics and is used in many applications, from designing roller coasters to understanding the behavior of planets. Chemical potential energy is the energy that is stored in the chemical bonds between atoms and molecules. It is a form of potential energy that can be released during a chemical reaction, such as combustion or digestion. Chemical potential energy is an important concept in chemistry and is used in many applications, from understanding the behavior of molecules to designing new materials. Elastic potential energy is the energy stored in an object when it is stretched or compressed. This type of potential energy can be released when the object returns to its original shape. Elastic potential energy is commonly observed in springs, rubber bands, and other elastic materials. It is an important concept in physics and is used in many applications, from designing mechanical systems to understanding the behavior of materials under stress.
